Tomorrow, the Guggenheim Helsinki will announce the winner of the Guggenheim Helsinki Design Competition. On Dec. 2, 2014, the institution released the shortlist of six designs chosen from a huge batch of 1,715 submissions. On April 25, in conjunction with an exhibition about those six finalists, the museum released updated designs for those six finalists. Below, you’ll find our story about those six updated designs:

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation announced a new exhibition, “Guggenheim Helsinki Now: Six Finalist Designs Unveiled,” which will open to the public on Saturday, April 25, at the Kunsthalle Helsinki in Finland. The purpose of this exhibition is to reveal the fully developed concepts in the Guggenheim Helsinki Design Competition. At the core of the exhibition, visitors will get to explore the process of how the six teams, selected by an 11-member jury this past December, have refined their designs for the past five months.

The exhibition will also include fifteen designs newly announced as honorable mentions, and analyses and interpretations of the data compiled by the 1,715 submissions.
