Esto Gallery: New Acropolis Museum

1 MIN READ

Bernard Tschumi’s New Acropolis Museum in Athens, Greece, opened to great fanfare earlier this year. The next step in a long-fought battle over the permanent home for Parthenon marble statuary and frieze panels that have been scattered around the globe, the state-of-the-art facility is the Greek government’s answer to the argument that Athens does not have a proper facility to safely preserve the ancient artefacts. Michael Z. Wise explored the building in ARCHITECT’s September 2009 issue (to read his essay, click here). As a complement to his in-depth essay, we present a collection of project photos taken by Esto’s Peter Mauss.
