“Architectural Record” Names Cathleen McGuigan Editor in Chief

Former "Newsweek" contributor Cathleen McGuigan will be editor-in-chief.

McGraw-Hill Construction announced that Cathleen McGuigan has been named the new editor-in-chief for Architectural Record. Most recently a contributing architecture critic for Newsweek, McGuigan has written about art, architecture, theater, and media for The New York Times Magazine, Smithsonian, Rolling Stone, and other publications. McGuigan also serves as an adjunct instructor for Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She is the second woman to hold the post of editor-in-chief at Architectural Record. “Cathleen brings a broad spectrum of experience and talent as an editor, journalist and critic, creating cultural content for readers across the globe,” said Keith Fox, president of McGraw-Hill Construction.
