Tokyo beat out bids from Madrid and Istanbul to win the honor of hosting the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. That Games will give the world a close look at a building design by Zaha Hadid Architects: the National Stadium of Japan. The $1.62 billion stadium opens in 2018.
