In its 48th year running, AIA Dallas has announced its annual Built Design Awards. This year, seven projects by Dallas architects were awarded for their architectural excellence and creativity. Out of a pool of more than 60 projects that were submitted, these finalists stood out for their responses to cultural, social, environmental, and contextual challenges they respectively faced. All but one of the projects is in Texas. The outlier, the House of Olympic Proportions, is in Washington.

The jury included Sharon Johnston, FAIA, founder and principal at Johnston Marklee in Los Angeles; Colin Neufeld, principal at Canadian firm 5468796 Architecture; and Amin Tadj, of Boston-based NADAAA—which is the firm that won the Design category in this year’s Architect 50.
