The Six Projects Shortlisted for the 2014 RIBA Stirling Prize

One of these projects will receive the award in October.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) announced the shortlist for this year’s RIBA Stirling Prize. The prize, established in 1996, is awarded annually and recognizes a United Kingdom building designed by RIBA chartered architects and International Fellows, or a building designed by a RIBA chartered architect that is located elsewhere in the European Union. Last year’s award went to the renovation of Astley Castle by Witherford Watson Mann Architects.

Here is the shortlist for the 2014 RIBA Stirling Prize, which will be awarded on Oct. 16:
