The James Beard Foundation announced the nominees for its annual restaurant design awards program. The 2016 nominated restaurants are located in four cities: Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Wellington, Ontario. The Outstanding Restaurant Design Awards recognizes projects in two categories: spaces that seat 75 people or less, and those that seat 76 or more. The winners will be announced at the James Beard Awards Gala in Chicago in May.

The nominees for outstanding restaurant in the 75 seats and under category are: Bruno in New York City, designed by Demian Repucci Design; Jon & Vinny’s in Los Angeles designed by Jeff Guga, Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, and Helen Johannesen; and Untitled in New York City designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop with Cooper Robertson.
