On Wednesday evening (just after midnight Thursday British Summer Time), the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) released the shortlisted projects for this year’s Stirling Prize, the annual awards program which recognizes the United Kingdom’s “best new building.” Last year’s Stirling Prize went to Newport Street Gallery by Caruso St. John Architects. RIBA will announce the winner on Oct. 31.
