Woodbury University’s Julius Shulman Institute will be honoring New York–based photographer Todd Eberle as the recipient of the 2017 JSI Excellence in Photography Award. A photographer-at-large for Vanity Fair more than 20 years, Eberle has shot notables such as Philip Johnson, Frank Gehry, FAIA, Florence Knoll Bassett, Tadao Ando, Hon. FAIA, and Rem Koolhaas, Hon. FAIA. He has also exhibited work at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, The Andy Warhol Museum, WPS1/MoMA, the Tate Modern, and the Gagosian Gallery.
In addition to receiving the award itself on May 4, Eberle will be celebrated with the exhibit “Todd Eberle: Empire of Space” on display from May 4 to June 25 at the Woodbury University Hollywood Outpost gallery. The show will include some of Eberle’s images of architectural works as well as his portraits of design leaders.
Previous winners of the award include James Welling, Hélène Binet, Grant Mudford, Catherine Opie, and Pedro Guerrero.
