MoMA PS1, an exhibition space in Long Island City affiliated with the Museum of Modern Art in New York, hosts an annual summer Warm Up series featuring experimental music and DJs from around the world. This year, the event is set to exhibit an installation by the Mexico City-based Escobedo Soliz Studio. The firm recently won the 17th annual Young Architects Program, a competition to redesign the PS1 courtyard with a water feature, a shading system, and seating for guests during hot summer months. Their winning interactive installation is called, “Weaving the Courtyard,” which includes a wading pool and a sunshade of multicolored, interwoven ropes connected to the concrete walls via tie-holes .

Warm Up 2016 will take place every Saturday from June 11, through Aug. 27. Expect “rotating stage environments by young, emerging design talent—including Anous and Arnold, Mimi Bai, Bittertang, CONFETTISYSTEM, Nitemind, Sit and Read and Justin Sloane,” says the institution’s latest press release.
