This year’s Pritzker Architecture Prize winner, Balkrishna Doshi, Hon. FAIA, will speak at the University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design. This event is an evening of firsts: Doshi is the first Indian architect to win the Pritzker Prize and tonight is the first Pritzker awards presentation that will be held in Canada. “This award will go a long way in India—in the schools, in the profession, as well as the government agencies,” Doshi told contributor Edward Keegan, AIA, following the award announcement in March. “We now have 600 schools of architecture; when I started there were only eight.”

For those of you who aren’t in Toronto, the lecture, “Paths Uncharted,” will be livestreamed on the school’s Instagram and Facebook pages. In addition to hearing from Doshi, the livestreamed lecture will also be a glimpse into the school’s new building, designed by Boston firm NADAAA in collaboration with local firms ERA Architects and Adamson Associates Architects. Doshi’s lecture begins at 6:30 p.m. EST.

Update, 5/17/18: The lecture is now available to watch on the school’s YouTube account. We’ve also embedded the video below.
