The American Institute of Architects has released a call for entries for the institute’s Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top Ten and Top Ten + Awards programs for 2016. Entries are due by Jan. 19, 2016.
The COTE Top Ten awards program, now in its 20th year, honors “exemplary and
innovative built projects that establish a standard of over-all design excellence that
creatively integrates sustainable design strategies, demonstrating their benefits
while educating and inspiring the profession and the public.” U.S. licensed architects are invited to submit built projects completed between 2011 and three months before Jan. 19. All applicant architects or firms must have signed the AIA 2030 Commitment to qualify. The Top Ten + program, in its fourth year, seeks submissions from past winners of the COTE Top Ten program that have at least one year of post occupancy performance data.
The jury for this year’s awards program includes: Larry Strain, FAIA, of Siegel & Strain Architects; Luke Leung of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; Judith Heerwagen of the U.S. General Services
Administration; Margaret Montgomery, FAIA, of NBBJ; and Andrew Whalley, AIA, of Grimshaw Architects.
