AIA Announces the 2020 Small Project Award Winners

The Institute recognized seven projects across three different categories based on size or construction cost.

The American Institute of Architects has announced the winners of its 2020 Small Project Awards, selecting seven projects that raise “awareness about the value and design excellence that architects can bring to projects, no matter their size or scope.” This year’s winners, all located in the U.S., were recognized in one of three categories: projects costing up to $150,000 in construction, projects costing up to $1,500,000 in construction, and projects under 5,000 square feet.

The jury for the 2020 Small Project Awards comprised chair Melissa Harlan, AIA, of Kiku Obata & Co. in St. Louis; Meryati Blackwell, AIA, of Marlon Blackwell Architects in Fayetteville, Ark.; Mark English, AIA, of Mark English Architects in San Francisco; Brian Korte, AIA, of Clayton & Little in San Antonio; and Upali Nanda, Assoc. AIA, of HKS and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
