Today, The American Institute of Architects and the American Library Association announced the 2021 AIA/ALA Library Building Awards winners, honoring five libraries in the United States that exemplify “design achievement, including a sense of place, purpose, ecology, environmental sustainability, and of history,” according to an AIA press release.
The jury for the 2021 ALA/ALA Library Building Awards comprised chair Elaine Molinar, AIA, Snøhetta in New York; Teri Canada, AIA, Evoke Studio Architecture in Durham, N.C.; Jennie West, AIA, Studio West in New Orleans; Sarah Meilleur, Calgary Public Library in Calgary, Alberta; Sharon Bostick, SLB Planning in Chicago; and Kris Johnson, Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont.
