Karen L. Braitmayer, FAIA, is the founder and managing principal of Studio Pacifica, in Seattle, and winner of AIA’s 2019 Whitney M. Young Jr. Award. Since 1990, she has provided design and consulting services with a focus in accessibility to local governments, school districts, architects, engineers, companies, and individuals concerned with complying with federal laws and state building code. Braitmayer is also a member of the U.S. Access Board.
