Joseph Kunkel

Joseph Kunkel, a citizen of the Northern Cheyenne Nation, is Principal and Sustainable Native Communities Design Lab Director in MASS Design Group’s O’ghe P’oghe (Santa Fe), NM, office. He is a community designer focused on sustainable development practices for Indigenous communities. His Native American affordable housing research developed into the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Healthy Homes Road Map for tribal housing development. Joseph was awarded fellowships from the Obama Foundation, LISC, and The Aspen Institute.
