Imani Day

Imani Day, AIA, is an architect in Gensler’s Detroit office, a former adjunct professor of design at the University of Detroit Mercy, and an editorial fellow with Columbia University’s Avery Review. A passionate, multifaceted designer dedicated to community-oriented design, specifically in educational spaces and cultural buildings, Imani has served as a board member for the National Organization of Minority Architects Detroit and AIA Detroit, approaching both with the goal of making an impact through local collaborations for programming, leading important conversations in the design community, and connecting the dots for better paths to licensure. This year, she joined the NOMA National Board as membership co-chair. She is also a member of Gensler's Global Race and Diversity Committee.
