Carl Elefante

Carl Elefante, FAIA, FAPT, is a senior fellow at Architecture 2030 and served as part of the organization’s delegation to COP26 (where the 1.5°C COP26 Communiqué was presented). He is also a principal emeritus at Quinn Evans Architects, an adjunct professor at The Catholic University of America and the University of Maryland, a founding member of the Climate Heritage Network, and a fellow of the AIA and the Association for Preservation Technology. In 2018, Elefante served as the president of The American Institute of Architects. Known for coining the phrase "The greenest building is one that is already built," Elefante has focused his architecture career on finding common ground, cherishing all life and resources, and enhancing health and well-being.
