As issue surrounding intellectual property theft heat up, making headlines with increasing frequency, lighting manufacturers like Super Vision International are finding themselves on the front pages. Start Magazine, a journal for manufacturing executives, tells in its June issue of Super Vision’s fight to defend its intellectual property after two former employees reportedly stole technology from the company and sold it to a manufacturer in China. Despite evidence of this theft, the company has faced a frustrating uphill battle to bring the thieves and counterfeiters to justice. According to the American Society of Industrial Security, such property theft will cost the U.S. economy more than $250 billion per year.
