National Green Building Award Winners Named

The program recognizes innovative green builders and remodelers from across the country.

Eight sustainable projects from across the country were recognized as winners of the NAHB’s National Green Building Awards, presented April 30 during the National Green Building Conference in Nashville, Tenn.

The custom, production, multifamily, and remodeling projects are from some of the most innovative green builders and remodelers in the industry, says NAHB chairman Barry Rutenberg, a home builder from Gainesville, Fla.

“The demand for green building is growing in leaps and bounds, and these winners set a great example of what can be accomplished in terms of sustainable and energy efficient building practices,” he says.

Five single-family home projects were honored:
•Tah.Mah.Lah by MGM Construction of San Francisco, for Project of the Year, Single-Family Custom Builder
•Ploeser Net-Zero by Meritage Homes of Goodyear, Ariz., for Project of the Year, Single-Family Production Builder
•Paar Residence by Chandler Design-Build Inc. of Mebane, N.C., for Project of the Year, Single-Family Small Volume Builder
•Thomas/Salmon Residence by TC Legend Homes/Zero-Energy Plans LLC of Coupeville, Wash., for Project of the Year, Single-Family Concept and Research- Enterprise
•INhome by Purdue University of West Lafayette, Ind., for Project of the Year, Single-Family Concept and Research- Academic

One multifamily project and two remodeling projects were also honored:
•Progresso Point by Trifecta Construction Solutions of Ft. Meyers, Fla., for Multifamily Project of the Year
•G HOME by Rocking Horse Redevelopment of Phoenix, Ariz., for Remodeling Project of the Year Over $100,000
•G HOME by Rocking Horse Redevelopment of Phoenix, Ariz., for Remodeling Project of the Year Under $100,000
