Access Available to EPA’s Chemical Information

1 MIN READ

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released ToxRefDB, an online database cataloguing testing results on hundreds of chemicals, that is now accessible for public search. ToxRefDB lists detailed chemical toxicity data as part of Aggregated Computational Toxiology Resource, an online warehouse that collects data from about 500 public sources on environmentally relevant chemicals.

Developed by the National Center for Computational Toxicology in partnership with EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP), ToxRefDB catalogues chronic, cancer, sub-chronic, developmental, and reproductive studies on hundreds of chemicals and also includes pesticide registration toxicity data that used to be stored in hard-copy document form by OPP. However, the database contains only certain hazard information and does not represent all of the information needed for a complete risk assesssment for pesticides or other chemicals.
