Making (H2O)Sense

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released its first WaterSense specification for a commercial building product: urinals.

The WaterSense partership program promotes water-efficient products and services. WasterSense-labeled flushing urinals will use no more than half a gallon of water per flush, 50 percent less water than standard models. Labeled models also must meet EPA performance requirements, ensuring that they perform as well as or better than standard models.

It is estimated that businesses could save 4,000 gallons of water per year for each WaterSense-labeled urinal installed. For more information, visit epa.gov/watersense.
