March 31 was the last day possible for LEED AP hopefuls to register to take the LEED exam under the old professional accreditation system, which is being phased out this spring. June 30 is the last day the LEED AP exam will be administered under the previous system. ra reported on the changes to the LEED system in April.

Unfortunately, the rush of professionals trying to get in under the wire on March 31 crashed the Green Building Certification Institute’s (GBCI) LEED exam registration website, according to a recent article in The Architect’s Newspaper. Consequently, the GBCI extended the registration deadline through April 1.
