Home building will take center stage during the U.S. Green Building Council’s Greenbuild Conference and Expo, running from Nov. 19-21 in Boston, with the first-ever Green Homebuilder’s Day. In a sign of the growing interest in healthy, affordable, efficient homes, the Nov. 20 event represents the USGBC’s first residentially focused program at the annual expo. The day will kick off with a panel session moderated by Kevin O’Connor, host of PBS’ This Old House television series, that will address the changing housing market and look forward to the next 50 years of sustainable and healthy home building. Other sessions for home builders will focus on green affordable housing, the costs of going green, and high-performance renovations.

Last year’s conference attracted more than 23,000 attendees and featured more than 850 exhibit booths. The 2008 event will draw more than 25,000 people. Visit www.greenbuildexpo.org for more information, and check back to EcoHome Online starting Nov. 20 for timely coverage of conference sessions and new products.
