Architecture, engineering, and planning firm SmithGroupJJR announced the opening of a new San Diego office on Thursday. This is the 10th U.S. location for the firm, which also has an office in Shanghai.

“We have had a lot of success in the past several years and are thrilled to be expanding our influence on the West Coast,” said managing partner Russ Sykes in a press release. “The combination of our future focused approach to integrated design, stellar client service, and a team of professionals who are leaders in their fields provides us with a strong platform for continued success. We have ambitious plans for the firm and what we’re accomplishing in San Diego is just one of the ways we’re achieving our goals.”

Bonnie Khang-Keating, director of SmithGroupJJR’s Los Angeles practice, will now also lead the San Diego office.

“Our Los Angeles office has experienced tremendous growth over the past six years, which has made us more visible in the region and helped us attract a great roster of clients who were drawn to our design excellence,” she said in the same release. “We’re looking forward to the opportunity to continue to build on our positive momentum in San Diego.”
