Today the American Institute of Architects announced the winners of the 2017 Committee on Architecture for Education’s Education Facility Design Awards. The jury awarded five awards of excellence and seven awards of merit to projects in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Washington, Oregon, California, Massachusetts, Illinois, and China. The jury was comprised of chair Brian Minnich, AIA, an associate at GWWO Inc./Architects; Alissa Harrington, a training and technology specialist at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Education; Jenine Kotob, Assoc. AIA, an architectural designer at Quinn Evans Architects; Philip Poinelli, FAIA, a principal at SMMA; and Brandi Rickels, an associate partner at Lake|Flato Architects.
