That percentage should continue to grow as firms respond to design needs revealed by the pandemic and opt to reduce their environmental impact by not building new. With an estimated 40% of the U.S. building stock comprised of buildings over 50 years old, there remain notable opportunities for architects in the existing building marketplace.
