In about two months, the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science will reopen in its new location: a 250,000-square-foot building next to the Pérez Art Museum Miami designed by Herzog & de Meuron. The Frost Museum complex, designed by the New York office of Grimshaw Architects and with executive architect Rodriguez and Quiroga Architects Chartered, contains four buildings—a planetarium, an aquarium, and two exhibition wings—connected by open-air corridors.
During a construction tour in December 2014, ARCHITECT interviewed Gillian Thomas, the museum’s then-CEO and president. (Thomas retired last year.) Watch the interview below.
