A three-bedroom, two-bathroom single family house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright was listed for sale last week by Coldwell Banker Burnet’s Berg Larsen Group. Designed in 1958, 2206 Parklands Lane in St. Louis Park, Minn., features a dramatic sloping roof that extends over a carport as well as ample windows throughout.

Jim Buchta reports in the Star Tribune that Paul and Helen Olfelt, then in their 30s, commissioned the architect to design a house for them and their three children. “I told him I came to him for beauty, good design and good function, and I wasn’t going to tell him how to be an architect,” Paul Olfelt told the Tribune. “And he said, ‘I’ve made this beautiful little nest for you.’ “

According to Margo Stipe, the curator and registrar of collections at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, the house is one of only a few Wright houses owned by the original clients. The price for the 2,647-square-foot residence on 3.77 acres is $1,495,000.
