This month, the architecture industry is headed to Philadelphia for three days of lectures, meetings, and some real-life, business-card-swapping networking. What should you see during AIA Convention 2016?
The Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk: To those conference-goers who aim to get a workout or two in during the course of the event, we commend and envy your ambition, and we recommend that you check out this over-water pedestrian and bicycle pathway during your morning jaunt. The 2,000-foot-long boardwalk, which opened in October 2014, extends the Schuylkill River Trail from Locust Street to the South Street Bridge and offers scenic views of the Philadelphia skyline, particularly at sunrise, from the Schuylkill River. The city has plans to extend the boardwalk even further over the course of the next four years, which you can read more about here. Pro-tip: It’s pronounced SKOO-kill.
