Employment for architects is expected to grow 5% over the next 10 years.

The impact of new technology is still an unknown quantity.

Rachel Kapisak Jones

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of architecture is expected grow 5% between 2022 and 2032, faster than the average for all occupations. About 8,200 new openings for architects are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of these openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force for retirement or other reasons. The impact of new technology like artificial intelligence on these statistics is still emerging.
