Project Description

The city of Nantong is a vital port city located on the Yangtze River. It is the fastest growing city in the Jiangsu Province in China, resulting in the need for additional healthcare facilities to support continued expansion and improve the quality of life. Nantong People’s Hospital is a 4.5 million-square foot, 2,600 bed facility that will focus on Cardiovascular and Neuro services. Academic and education research space, various clinics and an infectious disease hospital will also be housed within the facility. The facility is the first hospital being designed on the Nantong Central Innovation Center campus.

Selected for the project through an international design competition, Gresham Smith’s winning design concept is focused on delivering an environmentally-conscious, operationally-efficient and modern hospital that provides quality care and patient satisfaction.
