Project Description
Atakoy Medical Healthcare is a 28.000 sqm private hospital located in Ataköy, Istanbul. The Project site is in between a busy high way and a residential area. The S form of the project acts as a barrier to the high way while creating two main entrances and two secondary entrances, which organize the circulation of cars and pedestrians inside the hospital area.
The “in between” situation is emphasized on the two main facades of the project. The facade looking to the high way is designed as a double skin facade providing a climatically controlled zone for the patient rooms, as well as blocking the traffic noise. This facade reflects high technology as a part of the corporate identity of the Memorial Health Group and it can be easily seen from the highway. On the other hand, the other facade has a more open and green appearance with balconies overlooking the backyard and the residential area. It creates a more welcoming atmosphere for the patients approaching to the main entrance.
