Project Description

FROM THE ARCHITECTS:

The duplex is located in the neighborhood of La Condesa. The project is made of a reticular structure of concrete frames with a 3 x 3 m module. Each module contains a different space, the modules are delimitated by sliding walls to give the space a flexible feature that allows to reduce or increase the size of each space depending on the needs of each user. The parking space, the public areas, the open areas, the semi open areas, and the two apartments are distributed in 4 levels. The public area of both apartments has double height and each duplex has its own open areas. The floor slabs and the roof are made by a series of wooden joists supported by concrete frames, the exterior walls are made of recycled formwork.

The first apartment occupies the first and second level. The client of this duplex was an architect, therefore the program counts with a big studio on the ground floor, a private back yard, a small living room, dining room, kitchen and one bed room with its bath room and private terrace. The second duplex was designed for a filmmaker. Due to the needs of the client the public area has a bigger living room and terrace, the kitchen is smaller than the other duplex but it counts with a W.C. for the public area. The private area is located in the last floor and contains a bedroom, bathroom, a private terrace and a tv room.
