Project Description

Mumbai, a compactly populated city on the west coast of India, expanding along the North – South axis has minimal scope for expansion. Growth and development has hence taken away the crux of the environment, green open spaces. And few of the only places that have remained for recreation include the seafront promenade in Bandra.
Therefore, being of utmost importance the revitalisation of it is essential. Beginning with the two parks situated at Bandstand, Bandra West, Mumbai, have a symbolic significance to the place it is sited in, as it yields a lot of attraction.
Bandstand Park 1 is envisioned to create a musical garden which replicates two musical instruments, which are to be crafted. Each of the two will be used by kids to play music and create sound. Also, the park is principally designed with three zones. Since the park has an unobstructed view of the sea, a seating alongside the parapet wall designed to have a clear vision of the never-ending ocean forming a sunset point as well. A central play area for the kids with games demarcated on the floor, helping to boost creativity as well as physical development and improve social skills. And lastly a seating underneath the wooden trellis forming a green roof and having an amazing play of light and shadow at different times of the day.
