Project Description

The ACE Hotel inhabits the landmark United Artists Theater and office tower, built in 1927. The tower houses the 182 guestrooms, suites and the rooftop bar and pool deck. The historic lobby is restored for a signature restaurant, hotel registration and guest services. The articulated storefront and original sidewalk paving pattern are fully restored. The theater is meticulously restored and updated for live performance events. The original 4-story lantern
and terra cotta façade on Broadway is cleaned and repaired; new windows are installed to match the original profiles. Renovation of the tower includes installation of a concrete seismic frame for the full height, to comply with modern seismic codes, as well as utilities, building systems and emergency egress upgrades. GREC provided Lead Architect services, including design team coordination and construction administration.
