Project Description

FROM THE AIA MARYLAND

Opened in 2013, this exciting gallery chronicles the first two hundred years of US postage stamp history, gives the National Postal Museum much greater visibility, and restores the history of a significant DC landmark. Collaborating closely with a separate exhibit designer, CBH+A coordinated all systems including structural, A/V, temperature and humidity control, lighting and security, without compromising the beauty of existing historic features. A new mezzanine, grand staircase, and elevator connecting three floors was also inserted into the historic shell.
