Energy Ace, an Atlanta-based energy services and LEED consulting firm, is offering what may be the industry’s first LEED certification guarantee. The guarantee applies to projects where Energy Ace oversees LEED administration, fundamental commissioning and energy modeling. While the project begins with the signing of a standard service contract, after LEED charettes are conducted, the contract then is amended to guarantee certification. If the project misses its targeted LEED level or fails to earn certification completely, Energy Ace will refund its LEED administration fee, which is typically 30 to 45 percent of its total fees.
