Project Description

Located by the Keelung River in Taipei, Lè Architecture is a 70-metre tall, 18-storey office building with a signature green wall. It is set to redefine the rapidly developing skyline in the Nangang district.

The building design translates regional culture into a contemporary form. Drawing inspiration from the river pebbles along the Keelung River, it delivers a unique and aesthetically appealing exterior with a green façade. The design conveys the ideas of roundness and elegance, strength and character. The egg-like shape implies it is an incubator of knowledge and a metaphor of intellectual revival, which integrates well with the local context and marks an important milestone in the revitalisation of the fast-emerging Nangang district.

Lè Architecture aims to provide efficient, interactive and healthy office spaces. The ‘urban living rooms’ offer span-leveled communal areas including pantries, cafes, libraries and breakout areas to create a comfortable and inspiring work environment. These semi-open areas also connect the indoor / outdoor environment.

Lè Architecture adopts a sustainable and green design with the use of the latest analytical, modeling and simulation software. The 70-metre tall, west-facing green façade provides sufficient shading and reduces heat gain, effectively lowering the temperature of the interiors. The plants also act as air filters.

Vertical aluminum fins in specific distance and depth also control the amount of sunlight streaming through the windows.

The project is certified with a LEED Gold certification.
