Project Description
Haoma is designed for the enjoyment of the senses, to make memories with friends in a beautiful atmosphere where you can get away from reality for a while. Created away from the traditional standards of delicatessens, Haoma seeks to make visitors feel special. From its food and drinks to the furniture design, this place was designed to awaken feelings. The restaurant is built on principles of environmental sustainability.Using recycled materials to create a positive environmental impact by reducing waste and the use of natural locally sourced timber flows seamlessly from one span to the other, wrap-ping the area in a kaleidoscope of shadows and natural light. The result toys with depth perception and harbors on surrealism, drawing you in as you look out and vice versa. The overall vision was to create a space with a design that surrounds the kitchen to the dual atmosphere of city and garden – urban gardening. The idea was to create a vivid and organic space, as a garden party.
Space
The heart of the restaurant is a large greenhouse, built through the two floors of the space, thereby transporting the guest into the sensation of a lush garden. The vision was to create an ambiance, reminding you that you are seated right in the middle of a farm complimenting the concept of zero kilometer. There are 3 areas in one place that allow guests to have different sensations:
The greenhouse is the place to spend a pleasant late morning enjoying your brunch with fresh ingredients growing right beside you.
The bar is the spot to make friends while enjoying a cocktail or our selection of appetizers, a more relaxed place.
Finally, the romantic corner and the private dining area, the hanging greenery from the ceiling and dim lighting create a magical and intimate atmosphere to comfortably share an evening full of stories and memories while enjoying good food
With the tranquil surroundings and old charm of the existing house, we took advantage of that tranquility to create comfort and a sense of serenity. We introduced a strong element of greenery inside to embrace the surrounding, making the dining spaces feel one with the environment. The space doesn’t compete with the external surrounds, instead choosing to compliment it.
Our approach for Haoma was thus an exercise in juxtaposition, with old and new elements, organic and manufactured materials, hard and soft textures harmoniously balanced.
