Project Description

In response to its surroundings, this home’s simple lines and sustainable materials project images of the present while reflecting on the past. This hybrid-timber frame home along with its detached garage and artist’s studio is a modern interpretation of a “rustic-farmstead.” Custom-milled joinery, hand-forged hardware and 18”x18” solid wood columns are sure to offer its guests a feeling of uniqueness when they enter the home. The 2-story great room is at the heart of this home with a 5’x5’ see-through stone fireplace on one side, and a wall of windows and stone columns on the other. The home was also outfitted with the latest technology in energy saving lighting control systems, geothermal heating and cooling equipment and long life-cycle building materials.
