Design for Decades: Residential Projects

Ranging from a small meditation hut and overnight camp to a pool house and single-family houses, this slide show features some of the American Institute of Architects’ members’ work on residential projects. Many of the projects are expressions of some of the owners’ lifestyles, values, tastes, and personalities melded with members’ expertise in the interplay of light, space, forms, site, views, and environment. These residential projects are designed by members of the American Institute of Architects who responded to the Institute’s recent invitation for its Design for Decades initiative. These projects demonstrate the lasting value of design.
