The American Institute of Architects (AIA) elected new leadership for 2010 and 2011 during its National Convention, held April 30 – May 2 in San Francisco.
Clark D. Manus, FAIA, CEO of Heller Manus Architects in San Francisco, will serve as the 2010 AIA first vice president/president-elect, becoming president in 2011. Manus has a long record of service with the national organization and its local chapters, and both he and his firm have received National AIA Honor Awards. He has served as AIA National vice president and as AIA San Francisco president, chaired the national Board Advocacy Committee and Strategic Planning Group, and served on the national Board of Directors and as chair of the Governance Task Force’s AIA150 “Blueprint for America Mosaic” Group. Manus also served two terms as director of the AIA California Council Board, and he is widely recognized for his ongoing public contributions to the rebuilding efforts following the 1989 San Francisco earthquake.
