The rumor mills are churning: Will architecture firm Perkins+Will merge with the London-based Pringle Brandon design studio?
Perkins+Will, which opened its own London office in 2007, announced last week that it is in discussions with Pringle Brandon about joining the two companies. If they go through with the merger, the new firm would be known as Pringle Brandon Perkins+Will and would cover multiple sectors including corporate and commercial design, healthcare, and transportation.
Both companies have seen rapid growth in the past few years and are now looking to expand their businesses by joining forces. Perkins+Will president and CEO Phil Harrison said this about the potential merger:
Pringle Brandon’s stature in corporate interiors, workplace strategy, and more recently architecture, is a compelling complement to Perkins+Will and would enhance our ability to provide local resources to clients throughout Europe.
Pringle Brandon Drew, a new practice offering base build architectural services, launched by Pringle Brandon, would also operate under the combined company. Together, Perkins+Will and Pringle Brandon have more than 100 years of design experience.
