Project Description

Forest City Enterprises understood the potential of The Edgeworth Building, a 1920s tobacco factory and warehouse on Richmond’s historic Tobacco Row, to offer prime real estate for office and residential use with large windows, high ceilings and a breathtaking view of the James River and city skyline. Baskervill’s final design beautifully juxtaposes an art deco theme with the building’s historically industrial nature. A strategic combination of machine-like forms from the mid-1920s with present-day materials and construction makes The Edgeworth Building a truly unique addition to Tobacco Row. By listening carefully to the client and relying on in-depth knowledge of history, Baskervill created a masterpiece where businesses and individuals alike will thrive.
