Project Description

A business owner with a sophisticated taste, adventurous spirit and a love for modern, minimalist architecture presented the challenge of creating a home that was modern and minimal while being “warm, inviting and family” feeling at the same time. A large angled roof plane with its low side facing the street was derived from the desire to have a low profile image on its public face. Upon entering, the roof and ground planes separate to open up the interior to a more exciting experience. Angled vertical projections create visual privacy from the neighbors and turn into overhangs that provide shading. A carbon fiber stair was custom designed and engineered to create an artistic piece that felt like it was floating.
