Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design has launched “The Daylight Dynamic,” a specialized portfolio that showcases the firm’s 40-year expertise in daylighting design. “Our clients are increasingly recognizing that the key to successful daylighting integration is HLB’s involvement in the earliest stages of programming and design, so that we can have an impact on the fundamental elements of building form, siting, orientation and fenestration,” says Principal Hayden McKay who leads the firm’s Daylighting and Sustainable Design Studio from the company’s New York office.

To that end, as part of HLB’s growing practice, they have entered into a collaborative alliance with Tanteri + Associates, now based in Austin, Tx. (The firm was previously based in New York City.) “When we were looking for high level expertise to assist with our expanding daylighting practice, Matthew Tanteri was the obvious choice,” says McKay. “He is a talented and innovative designer, with specific capabilities in integrated design.”

Matthew Tanteri has more than 25 years lighting design experience with a particular expertise in daylighting. In addition to his practice, Tanteri has taught daylighting design in the M.F.A lighting program in the School of Constructed Environments at Parsons the New School for Design in New York. He has also served on the Illuminating Engineering Society Daylighting Metric Committee that was instrumental in developing the new simulation metrics used in LEED v4.0.

The collaborative alliance between the two firms will provide clients with extensive access to the firm’s leading daylighting experts and geographical diversity to meet all project needs.
