The New York Festival of Light (NYFOL), a non-profit art organization, is currently accepting submissions for light installations for its 2015 event, which will take place Nov. 5 – 7 in Brooklyn, N.Y. The call is open to all artists, architects, technologists, and educational and cultural institutions, globally, who work with the medium of light.
The event location sites are at the historic anchorage of the Manhattan Bridge and along the East River waterfront of Brooklyn Bridge Park in Brooklyn, N.Y.
All information and the entry process is done online via this link: https://nyfol.submittable.com/submit/42081
The festival was conceived by Ira Levy, a New York City-based lighting designer and Liam O’Braion, a producer of large-scale entertainment events. Both have been long time admirers of the lighting festivals that take place annually around the world in cities such as Berlin; London; Lyon, France; Montreal, Canada; and Sydney. “The festival is a celebration of light, in all of its extraordinary incarnations ranging from static, interactive, and projection in addition to the ways artists, dancers, designers, musicians, and technologists collaborate with light to make their performances a delight for the senses,” O’Braion said in a prepared statement.
