A recent study from the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems commissioned by Agora Energiewende found that the cost to produce power in North America will drop to between 4 and 8 cents per kWh by 2025, making solar power cheaper than coal, gas, and nuclear-fired power plants.

While this study was based on today’s current economic trends, Dr. Patrick Graichen, Director of the Agora Energiewende, said, “It is up to policy makers to create and maintain this conditions.”
