The U.S. Department of State has selected the Storefront for Art and Architecture, with Praxis journal, to organize the U.S. exhibition for the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale in 2014. The exhibition at the U.S. Pavilion—titled “OfficeUS: Criticism by Re-Making”—will be curated by Storefront director Eva Franch i Gilabert, MIT architecture professor Ana Miljacki, and Praxis co-founder and editor Ashley Schafer.

According to a release, “OfficeUS” will feature two central components: an exhibition archive of 1,000 U.S. architectural projects around the world from the last 100 years (“the Repository”) and an incubator space for invited specialists to re-make the material from the Repository (“the Office”). Diverse typologies and architecture firms will mark the samples included in the Repository.

Figures invited to participate in the Office laboratory hail from Architizer, Leong Leong, Natasha Jen/Pentagram, Clog, Praxis, Ennead Architects, the Storefront, and other organizations. Curators and participants in “OfficeUS” will host a press conference at the Storefront on Sept. 27.
